this time the endorsement comes from DC Metrocentric's James Hickman on Washingtonian.com:
Best up-and-coming neighborhood to buy in right now:

“It’s a tossup between Anacostia and Petworth. Both areas are undergoing major demographic changes, but the sheer volume of great-looking older houses that can be had for a bargain, combined with the many new neighborhood amenities currently being built make both places attractive right now.”

Well we already know people are buying in Petworth, the prices are still a little higher than Anacostia.
Anacostia's prices are still reasonable and the change isn't happening too fast that there is hostility in the community. That is good diversity, young buyers and families who want to live in Anacostia.

Yay for Anacostia. I worry, though, there's so much crime people won't be buying for a while. Great prices, though.

How is it living in Anacostia now? Is it becoming more diverse income and race wise?

i love living in Anacostia. it is definitely becoming much more income diverse, and a little bit more slowly (but surely) becoming more race diverse.

it's really fun living somewhere that is literally changing by the second.
