salvation army update

Definitely looking better with the glass in. I like the contrast of the aqua glass with the orange bricks:

Still eager to learn what retail tenant (please let it be retail) will take the ground floor.

ok, official word on the street is that a hot dog place was interested, but looks like those plans have changed. Now it will most likely be either be some kind of office service retail (kinkos?) or deli/coffee shop.

For some reason this building still hasnt grown on me from an aesthetic standpoint. I am not sure how I feel about it or supposed to feel. I hope they add something soon that makes me go "wow - now I get it!"

apparently the rent for office space is pretty high, particularly for the neighborhood. They were supposed to be renting space to other nonprofits, but they can't afford the 'downtown' rates. First the horrendous architecture at the foot of our beloved historic district and now this. Hard to give them a big Anacostia welcome.

I am so excited to have uncovered this site/blog. I must say the building has not grown on me either. I wonder when I drive by the building would this be something place in upper NW?
